There must be regulations for community participation about having APAR
According to Inggar Joshua, Vice Chairman of Jakarta DPRD Commission A, one effort that could be made to intensify community participation was to equip the environment with portable fire extinguishers (APAR).
"This is a must as an option to overcome the problem of fires, the number of which continues to increase every year," he stated, Thursday (6/6).
Commission A Appreciates Fire Handling and Rescue ServicesHe cited that the South Jakarta area had declared the People's Movement to Have APAR (Gempar). Community leaders in South Jakarta have encouraged residents to have APAR in their homes.
It must be imitated and strengthened with regulations from the executive through the Gubernatorial Regulation, thus the movement is massive in all cities and districts.
"There must be regulations for community participation about having APAR," he uttered.
He assured that the regulation would not be rejected by the public because fire is a danger that haunts all parties and the regulation was made for the common good and safety.
"Hopefully, the regulation about fire management can be changed related to the procurement of APAR. "If this is implemented, I'm sure residents will support it because it is related to their safety," he said.
